As long as I am the Chief Minister, Governor Rao will continue on the job and will complete his tenure, Farooq said and urged the Governor not to press for acceptance of his resignation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said choosing this date for inauguration of the project on the birth anniversary of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was very auspicious. Remembering contributions of the Lion of Kashmir and father of the present Chief Minister, Governor Rao said this great leader from the valley was a great visionary who had conceived several programmes for development of all the three regions of the state.

Referring to poor condition of the state due to prevalance of militancy in the state in the past, he said, the national conference government led by dr farooq has to work hard to overcome ill effects of eight long years of turmoil in the state.
The governor also referred to problems of victims of militancy and rehabilitation of surrendered militants, safe return of migrants to their homeland, problems of unemployment and above all expediting pace of development.
