The Union government is holding road shows in Houston, United States of America and Calgary, Canada for promoting the Discovered Small Fields Bid Round 2016. Houston road show is scheduled on July 14 and 15 while the Calgary road show will be held on July 18 and 19.
Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan will visit Houston and Washington DC for two days. During the visit, he will launch the International Road-Show for the 67 Discovered Small Fields (DSF) in Houston. He will also visit Washington during which he will meet his counterpart Dr Ernest Jeffrey Moniz - Secretary of Energy, USA on July 18.
Discovered Small Fields bidding was launched in New Delhi on May 25, 2016. Subsequently, Road-Shows for this round were held in Mumbai and Guwahati. Under this round, 67 discovered fields of ONGC and Oil India Ltd, which could not be monetised during previous years, are being offered for international bidding. More attractive administrative and fiscal procedures have been introduced in this bidding process in sync with best international practices.
During the road show a data room will also be opened in office premises of ONGC Videsh Ltd in Houston. Pradhan in his meeting with his US counterpart in Washington DC is likely to discuss issues of bilateral hydrocarbon cooperation. Pradhan will also hold interactions with various think-tanks working in the hydrocarbon sector in Houston and Washington DC. He will also visit technology centres working in oil and gas spheres.
Pradhan will be accompanied by chairmen of major government-owned oil companies and senior officials of the ministry of petroleum. Road shows are being organized in India and abroad to attract investors for the bidding round.
