No proposal for cap on foreign visits of ex-Presidents: Govt

Government today said there is no proposal to put a cap on the foreign visits of former Presidents.
Reacting to media reports that former President A P J Abdul Kalam has been a "frequent flyer" and that the government was "looking to see if it can put a cap on such visits", the PMO clarified that the cost of the foreign travels of Kalam was borne usually by his hosts and not the government.
"There is no proposal before the government to put any kind of restriction on the foreign travels of former Presidents," it said.
