PM refers Shunglu report to CBI

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) the Shunglu committee report that had indicted suspended Prasar Bharti chief B S Lalli and Doordarshan Director General Aruna Sharma in the award of broadcasting rights for the Commonwealth Games allegedly causing Rs 135 crore loss to the exchequer.

Meanwhile, casting a wider net, CBI on Friday conducted searches at the premises of certain Organising Committee officials in connection with the Games overlays scam.
