Revenue secretary reviews IT preparedness for GST roll out
All authorised banks were directed to ensure their IT systems are in place for networking

A meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia to review the IT preparedness of the various stakeholders for smooth roll-out of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
In the meeting, representatives of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC), IT heads of 29 banks and the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) took part.
All authorised banks were directed to ensure that their IT systems are in place for networking with RBI, GSTN and the accounting authorities of Central and state Government authorities, latest by September 30th, 2016, a finance ministry statement said.
