Seth named Cabinet Secretary

Ajit Kumar Seth, IAS officer from the UP cadre (1974 batch) was today named the next Cabinet Secretary. He would succeed K M Chandrasekhar who retires at the end of June.

Seth was secretary, public grievances and coordination in the Cabinet Secretariat, sitting in a room just down the hall from the Cabinet Secretary’s.

Seth is considered by his peers to be low-key and uncontroversial.
