Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda) chairman T S Vijayan today inaugurated their Regional Office in New Delhi . This office will be headed by a Joint Director with 10 officers and employees. Some of the functions of Consumer Affairs Department, Inspection Department and Surveyors Department of Irda will be handled from this office. The regulator is opening a regional office in Mumbai shortly.
The Regional Office will focus on spreading consumer awareness and handling of Insurance grievances besides providing required support for inspection of Insurance companies located in the Northern Region. This office will also be functionally responsible for granting /renewal / modification of licenses of Surveyors and Loss Assessors.
