The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has considered an initiative of operationalising Information Technology (IT) enabled surveillance systems across National Highways (NHs) to facilitate highway users. This is critical for facilitating enhanced road safety and reduction in number of road accident deaths, effective enforcement of law and order on the NHs and monitoring of traffic patterns for future planning.
