Mine Counter Measures Vessels

Mine Counter Measure Vessels (MCMVs) are deployed to detect, tract and destroy mines laid by enemy forces to choke harbours and spread mayhem. Assessment of defence preparedness is a dynamic process, keeping in view threat perception. Government takes all necessary measures to maintain operational preparedness of the forces, in accordance with the Maritime Capability Perspective Plan (MCPP 2012-2027).
