National Highways in Karnataka

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has received proposal for declaration of these roads as new National Highway in the country. Accordingly, this Ministry has declared the road from Bangalore-Ramanagara-Channapattna-Mandya-Mysore-Madikeri-Mangalore as NH taking into account requirement of connectivity, inter-se-priority and availability of funds. Further, development of National Highway is also a continuous process and works are taken up in stretches, keeping in view the requirement of connectivity, inter-se-priority and availability of funds. It would be premature to indicate time of completion of the project.

This information was given by Minister of State for Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Shri Pon Radhakrishnan in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
