Procurement of Bullet Proof Jackets

Bulletproof jackets (BPJs) are scaled item. They are procured and provided to the armed forces as per laid down policy. The procurement case of 1,86,138 BPJs is at Trial stage and the case of 50,000 is at Technical Evaluation Committee stage.

This information was given by Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar in a written reply to Shri Neeraj Shekhar and Shri Arvind Kumar Singh in Rajya Sabha today.
