In his State of the Union address, US President Barack Obama said America no longer needed to deploy tens of thousands of troops to occupy nations or meet threats from new extremist groups. The US defence budget contains hundreds of billions of dollars for new generations of aircraft carriers, stealth fighters and tanks that even the army says it doesn’t need (Click on graphic)
