Phase-I of placements at the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay saw almost 240 companies making around 900 job offers.
IIT Bombay held Phase-I of its placements between December 1 and 18, 2012. Most students continued to show interest towards the technical sector, with most of them opting for engineering and technology firms including information technology. The largest number of offers by single organisations were from the engineering and technology sector. Close to 60 offers have been extended by management consulting firms and nearly 90 offers by financial services firms that visited the campus, which included eight leading management consulting and 10 financial services firms.
Over 84 students have been recruited by multinational companies for their global requirement. The continued focus on firms, as per the placement office’s Look East policy, saw the creation of several new job opportunities with highly rated organisations.
Approximately 1500 students graduating from various academic programmes (B. Tech, Dual Degree, M. Tech., M. Des., M. Phil. and PhD) participated in the campus placement.
