Almond edges higher on pick up in local demand

Almond prices rose by Rs 4.75, or 1.43 per cent, to Rs 337 per kg in futures trade today on increased demand in the spot market due to festive season.
Restricted arrivals from overseas markets also led to a rise in almond prices in futures markets.
At the Multi commodity Exchange counter, almond for September contract rose by Rs 4.75, or 1.43 per cent, to Rs 337 per kg, with a trading volume of one lot.
Market analysts said the firmness in almond futures prices was attributed to increase in demand in the spot market, against restricted arrival from overseas markets.
