Amidst media reports on exit of existing private equity investor from Apollo Hospitals, shares of the healthcare major has touched a 52-week high on Bombay Stock Exchange. On Friday, shares of Apollo Hospitals touched 52-week high of Rs 750. On Thursday, shares were closed at Rs 729.5 on BSE. Apollo has a market capitalisation of Rs 9,889 crore.
According to media reports, global private equity firm Apax Partners LLP is looking to sell its 10 per cent stake in Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, for $250 million (Rs 1,300 crore).
Malaysian sovereign fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd, which already holds a 10.85 per cent stake in Apollo Hospitals, is one of the funds in talks with Apax, said reports. Other investors who are interested in Apollo stake are Blackstone Group LP and Bain Capital.
