Assam will soon go on a "mission mode" to increase production of onion in the state. Assam has been selected as one of the six states by the central government to increase the production of onion and the state's agriculture department has taken a new initiative named 'CM'S Onion Mission' to substantially push onion production in the state.
Assam chief minister Tarun Gogi recently reviewed the progress of activities of the agriculture and irrigation departments at a meeting and issued the directive to go on a 'mission mode' for onion production.
