Basmati rice falls on increased supply

Rice prices declined up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on sluggish demand against increased arrivals from producing belts.
Elsewhere, other grains prices moved in a narrow range in restricted buying activity and settled around previous levels.
Traders said adequate stocks positions, following increased arrivals from producing belts amid subdued demand, mainly led to a decline in wholesale rice prices.
In the rice section, basmati common declined by Rs 100 to Rs 5,300-5,400 per quintal.
