The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will drop NIIT and Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) from its benchmark 30 share index Sensex from January 7, 20002 and will replace with HCL Technologies Ltd. and Hero Honda Ltd.
As on Friday, the weightage of NIIT and M&M stood at 0.39 per cent and 0.43 per cent, respectively with a market capitalisation of Rs 950.60 crore and Rs 1001.50 crore. NIIT closed at Rs 245.95 and M&M closed at Rs 90.65 on Friday. The 52-week high of NIIT and M&M are Rs 1921 and Rs 189, respectively.
As against this, the market capitalisation of HCL Technologies is Rs 6783.25 crore and that of Hero Honda is Rs 5056.40 crore. HCL Technologies closed at Rs 237.80 and Hero Honda closed at Rs 253.20 today, while their 52 week highs are Rs 774 and Rs 276, respectively.
The Index Committee of BSE in its meeting held today also made changes in the BSE-100 and BSE Teck indexes. BSE 100 will have Gail and Corporation Bank from January 7 in place of BPL and Indian Aluminium. In BSE-TECk Index , Visualsoft (India) Ltd has been replaced with Polaris Software Lab. Ltd. effective from January 7 2002.
