Cardamom down 0.2% on sluggish demand

Spice for delivery in January shed 0.24%

Cardamom prices declined by 0.25% to Rs 732.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

 

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December declined by Rs 1.80, or 0.25%, to Rs 732.60 per kg in business turnover of 231 lots.

 

Similarly, the spice for delivery in January shed Rs 1.80, or 0.24%, to Rs 761.90 per kg in 66 lots.

 

Analysts said trimming of position by speculators due to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
