Cardamom up 0.1% as demand picks up

Cardamom prices rose by 0.19% to Rs 740 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November month rose by Rs 1.40, or 0.19% to Rs 740 per kg in business turnover of 126 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in December edged up by 40 paise, or 0.05% to Rs 767.50 per kg in 7 lots.
Market analysts said speculators enlarged their positions on pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies following less arrivals from producing belts, mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
