Castorseed prices moved up by Rs 90 to Rs 4,745 per quintal in futures trade today following aggressive buying by traders in line with a firm overseas and domestic market cues.
Market analysts said low stocks position against pick in demand at prevailing lower levels amid firm global trend, mainly pushed up the castorseed futures price.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for delivery in May gained Rs 90, or 1.93 per cent, to Rs 4,745 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,930 lots.
Likewise, castorseed prices for delivery in March rose by Rs 56, or 1.11 per cent, to Rs 5,105 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,430 lots.
Castorseed prices for delivery in April moved up by Rs 27, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 4,780 per quintal, with a business volume of 9,280 lots.
