Castorseed prices rose by Rs 34 to Rs 3,348 per quintal in futures trade today following low levels buying by traders.
Marketmen said speculators purchasing at existing lower levels driven by firming trend in the spot markets mainly pushed up castorseed prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for July contract recovered by Rs 34, or 1.03%, to Rs 3,348 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,41,480 lots.
Current June contract prices also rose by Rs 31, or 0.97%, to Rs 3,240 per quintal, having an open interest of 60,080 lots.
