Castorseed up 1.6% on increased buying

Marketmen said improvement in export demand against weak supply in domestic markets encouraged traders to raise holdings

Castorseed prices advanced by Rs 70 to Rs 4,385 per quintal in futures trade today following speculators buying guided by firm overseas cues.

Marketmen said improvement in export demand against weak supply in domestic markets mainly encouraged traders to raise holdings.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for far March contract hardened by Rs 70, or 1.62%, to Rs 4,385 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 35,240 lots.

February contract rose by Rs 53, or 1.22%, to Rs 4,384 per quintal, with an open interest of 95,660 lots.

Most active January contract advanced by Rs 22, or 0.50%, at Rs 4,402 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,78,630 lots.
