Chana prices moved up by Rs 9 to Rs 3,234 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions on expectations of a rise in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July moved up by Rs 9, or 0.28%, to Rs 3,234 per quintal with an open interest of 171,380 lots.
Similarly, chana for delivery in the June contract edged up by Re one, or 0.03%, to Rs 3,194 per quintal in 1,860 lots.
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on hopes a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped chana prices to trade higher at futures trade.
