Chana up 0.3% on spot demand

Analysts said the rise in chana prices at futures trade was firm demand in the spot markets, triggering speculators to create positions

Chana prices up by 0.36% to Rs 3,045 per quintal in futures trading today after speculators created fresh positions supported by an improvements in spot market demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in January rose by Rs 11, or 0.36% to Rs 3,045 per quintal with an open interest of 30,260 lots.

However, commodity for delivery in February held steady at Rs 3,123 per quintal in 79,740 lots.

Analysts said the rise in chana prices at futures trade was firm demand in the spot markets, triggering speculators to create positions.
