Once again yesterday the Union Cabinet approved the Bill to amend the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act giving more powers to the commodity futures market regulator, Forward Markets Commission (FMC). The Bill is yet to be passed by parliament, which will not be an easy task. However, if it is passed it will pave the way for more instruments like index-based trading and options trading to enter the market.
