Copra continues to surge on heavy stockists demand

Copra prices continued to surge at the spices market here today on the back of sustained demand from stockists and retailers amidst restricted arrivals.

Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode, copra Rajapur Mumbai and copra edible Mumbai all went up by Rs 100 per quintal each Rs 5,100, Rs 5,000, Rs 6,900 and Rs 5,900 from Monday's closing level of Rs 5,000, Rs 4,900, Rs 6,800 and Rs 5,800, respectively.

Meanwhile, black pepper, ginger bleached and ginger unbleached closed stable owing to lack of buying support.

Following are today's closing rates in rupees, with the previous rates in brackets:

Black Pepper (per kilo) 211/225 (211/225), ginger bleached (per kilo) 235 (235), ginger unbleached (per kilo) 250 (250), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 5,100 (5,000)
