Crude oil futures prices today fell marginally by 0.09% to Rs 5,468 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in the Asian trade.

The trading sentiment turned weak at futures trade after crude oil prices dipped in Asian trade over concerns that a possible spike in US crude inventories signalled declining demand in the world's biggest economy.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract shed Rs 5 or 0.09%, to Rs 5,468 per barrel in 2,281 lots.

The May contract moved down by Rs 4, or 0.07%, to Rs 5,517 per barrel in 102 lots.

Meanwhile, crude oil shed 45 cents to $106.88 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
