Crude oil futures prices today fell by 0.42% to Rs 5,969 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in Asian trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in December fell by Rs 25, or 0.42%, to Rs 5,969 per barrel in 252 lots.

Similarly, the oil for November delivery moved down by Rs 23, or 0.39%, to Rs 5,880 per barrel in 1,263 lots.

The trading sentiment turned weak at futures trade after crude oil prices declined in Asian trade as investors booked profits ahead of fresh international talks on Iran's nuclear programme, analysts said.

Meanwhile, crude oil for December delivery shed 31 cents to $93.53 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
