The Dow and S&P 500 index fell at the open on Wednesday as the market continues to show signs of fatigue this week after a strong run from late last year, but the Nasdaq rose on forecast-beating results from Apple Inc.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 42.92 points, or 0.34%, at 12,632.83. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dipped 2.18 points, or 0.17%, at 1,312.47. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 13.41 points, or 0.48%, at 2,800.05.
