Geometric has moved higher by 13% to Rs 171 on the BSE after the company reported 26% quarter on quarter (q-o-q) jump in consolidated net profit at 28.96 crore for the quarter ended December 2015 (Q3FY16). The information technology company had profit of Rs 23.02 crore in the previous quarter ended September 30, 2015.
Total operational income during the quarter under review grew 2.3% at Rs 315 crore on sequential basis.
In US dollar terms, revenues rose 0.5% q-o-q and 2.3% y-o-y to $ 47.68 million, Geometric said in a release.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) margin improved to 20.08% in Q3FY16 against 17.34% in Q2FY16.
The company said it signed new deals worth $ 15.16 million during the quarter.
At 01:32 PM, the stock was up 11% at Rs 167 as compared to 0.1% rise in S&P BSE Sensex. The trading volumes on the counter jumped an over four-fold with a combined 2.36 million shares changed hands on the BSE and NSE.
