Groundnut oil declines on improved supply

Groundnut oil prices declined in a fairly active oils and oilseeds market here today on subdued retail offtake on the back of improved supply positions. 

Meanwhile, refined palmolein gained on renewed stockist demand.  

Castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial also moved up owing to fresh demand from shippers and soap industries. In futures market, castorseeds maintained the rising momentum on bullish export orders.

In the edible segment, groundnut oil declined by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 970 from overnight closing level of Rs 975, while refined palmolein gained by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 551 as against Rs 548 yesterday.

 

Turning to non-edible section, castorseeds bold went up by Rs 25 per 100 kg to 4,875 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 4,850 and castor oil commercial added by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 1,005 as compared to Rs 1,000 previously.

Linseed oil closed unchanged at Rs 720 per 10 kg.

Moving to futures section, castorseeds for September delivery resumed higher at Rs 4,611 and firmed up further to close at Rs 4,631 from Rs 4,575 previously, disclosing a gain of Rs 56 per tonne.
