Lead down 0.3% on subdued spot demand

Subdued demand from battery-makers affected lead futures

Lead futures for May fell 35 paise, or 0.31%, to Rs 112.50 per kg in 91 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract shed 30 paise, or 0.27%, to Rs 111.85 per kg in 1,862 lots.

Subdued demand from battery-makers, mainly affected the lead futures prices.     

Weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on concern that record unemployment in Europe will weaken demand amid signs of slowing growth in China

At LME, lead declined 2.9% to $2,050 per tonne.
