Markets end sharply lower weighed down by financials

Markets ended over 2.3% lower on Tuesday, amid a weakening rupee, weighed down by selling pressure in financials and index heavyweights.

The 30-share Sensex ended down 448 points or 2.3% at 18,734 and the Nifty ended down 141 points or 2.5% at 5,544.
