Markets in green; Bharti bucks trend

The Sensex after rebounding into green touched a high of 17,226, and is now up 77 points at 17,196. The NSE Nifty is up 15 points at 5,132.

Earlier in the day, the markets had opened on soft note owing to weak cues from the Asian markets.

Auto and IT stocks are leading the up move with steady gains.

Among the index stocks - BHEL has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 2,407.

Grasim, Hindalco and Infosys have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 2,435, Rs 144 and Rs 2,490, respectively.

ACC and Mahindra & Mahindra have added 1.3% each to Rs 826 and Rs 1,043, respectively.

Maruti, Sun Pharma and Hero Honda are up over 1% each.

Bharti Airtel, however, has slipped 1.5% to Rs 327.
