Mentha oil futures rise 1.76% as demand picks up

Mentha oil futures prices rose by Rs 17.40, or 1.76 per cent, to Rs 1,002.80 per kg today, due to pick up in domestic and export demand at lower levels, against slowdown in arrivals from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for October delivery rose by Rs 17.40, or 1.76 per cent, to Rs 1,002.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 1,526 lots.
The oil for delivery in November was up by Rs 16.80, or 1.67 per cent, to Rs 1,016.90 per kg, with a business volume of 959 lots, while December contract inched up Rs 14.70, or 1.45 per cent, to Rs 1,022 per kg, with a trading volume of 59 lots.
Traders said increased domestic and export demand, mainly pushed up the mentha oil futures prices.
They said restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent.
