Mentha oil futures for April surged by Rs 15.30, or 1.60% to Rs 968.60 per kg in 156 lots.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract shot up by Rs 13.70, or 1.43% to Rs 969.40 per kg in 235 lots.
Prices surged as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by strong domestic as well as export demand in the spot market.
Tight stocks position in the physical market due to less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported the upsurge in mentha oil.
