Mentha oil up 0.2% on good demand, tight supply

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on good demand from consuming industries in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid good demand from consuming industries and lower arrivals, mentha oil prices rose by Rs 0.26% to Rs 795.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February rose by Rs 2.10, or 0.26%, to Rs 795.50 per kg in business turnover of 61 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March traded higher by Rs 1.80, or 0.22%, to Rs 806.40 per kg in 28 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on good demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh that led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
