Black pepper and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal each in the national capital today owing to sluggish demand against adequate stocks. Weakening trend in futures market and lower advices from the producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
Black pepper and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 18,500-18,600 and Rs 16,700-19,900 per quintal, respectively.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded lower at Rs 12,300-12,600 and Rs 13,600-14,100 against the previous closing of Rs 12,400-12,700 and Rs 13,700-14,200 per quintal.
Marketmen said reduced offtake by local parties and stockists pulled down select spice prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
