Potato prices gained 1.64% to Rs 828 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions driven by higher demand in the spot market against tight supplies.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in September gained Rs 13.40, or 1.64%, to Rs 828 per quintal in business turnover of 191 lots.
Market analysts said speculators enlarged their positions driven by higher demand in the spot market against tight supplies on restricted arrivals from producing region mainly led to rise in potato prices at futures trade.
