Press Trust of India New Delhi
Potato prices rose by Rs 4.40 to Rs 915.80 per quintal in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions amid rising demand in the domestic market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for March contract rose by Rs 4.40, or 0.48%, to Rs 915.80 per quintal, with a trading volume of 29 lots.

The delivery for April contract also traded higher by Rs 3.70, or 0.41%, to Rs 889.50 per quintal with a business volume of 2 lots.

Marketmen said the rise in potato prices in futures trade was attributed to pick-up in spot demand against restricted arrivals in the markets from producing belts.
