Ramco Cements has rallied 9% to Rs 379 on BSE after reporting about five-fold jump in its standalone net profit to Rs 89.71 crore for the second quarter ended September on the back of cost reduction and improved realisation.
The company had posted profit of Rs 18.27 crore for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total operational income for the July-September quarter increased Rs 3.3% to Rs 951 crore from Rs 921 crore in the same period a year ago. Total expenditure however, declined by 7.8% to Rs 797 crore from Rs 864 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal.
EBITDA or operating profit margin expanded over 800bps to 22.9% from14.72% during the recently concluded quarter.
The stock opened at Rs 362 and hit a new high of Rs 380 on BSE. A combined 108,331 shares changed hands on the counter till 0930 hours on BSE and NSE.
