Sensex down 326pts at 16,917

The index moved in a range of 242 points between 16,863 (low) and 16,105 (high) before finally settling (provisional) with a loss of 326 points at 16,917.

The market breadth was negative - out of 2,790 stocks traded, 1,046 advanced, 1,674 declined and 70 were unchanged today.

The NSE Nifty ended (provisional) with a loss of 90 points at 5,028.
