Sensex down 53pts; HDFC, Sun Pharma gain 2%

The Sensex is now down 53 points at 8,924.
Tata Steel and BHEL have slumped nearly 3% each to Rs 171 and Rs 1,419, respectively.
Hindustan Unilever has plunged 2.5% to Rs 227. Reliance Communications, Hindalco and Tata Motors have shed 2.3% each at Rs 156, Rs 44 and Rs 173, respectively.
SBI and HDFC Bank have declined 2% each to Rs 942 and Rs 826, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro and Grasim are down around 1.5% each at Rs 626 and Rs 1,451, respectively.

HDFC and Sun Pharma have rallied nearly 2% each to Rs 1,380 and Rs 1,015, respectively.
Sterlite and Maruti have gained 1.5% each at Rs 307 and Rs 729, respectively.
TCS and Infosys are up 1.3% each at Rs 513 and Rs 1,294, respectively.
The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,409 stocks traded so far, 1,188 have advanced, 1,119 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
