Sensex down over 200pts; Satyam slips 5%

The Sensex contiues to drift lower and is now down 204 points at 9,724. The index has opened 106 points lower at 9,822.

Jaiprakash Associates has slumped 7.5% to Rs 81. Tata Motors has tumbled 5.7% to Rs 177.

Satyam has shed nearly 5% at Rs 155. Larsen & Toubro and Sterlite have plunged 4% each to Rs 781 and Rs 270, respectively.

Tata Steel and Maruti have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 217 and Rs 511, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped over 3% to Rs 297. ONGC has declined 2.8% to Rs 690.

ICICI Bank and DLF are down around 2.5% each to Rs 434 and Rs 308, respectively.
