Sensex edges higher in cautious trade

The benchmark BSE Sensex pared intra-day gains to close marginally higher on Wednesday, as investors took profits in outperformers, including Tata Steel ahead of key events later in the week. The Sensex closed 3.33 points, or 0.01 per cent, higher at 29,007.99 after gaining as much as 0.9 per cent earlier in the session. The broader Nifty gained 5.15 points, or 0.06 per cent, to 8,767.25. The index gained as much as 0.89 per cent earlier on Wednesday.
