Sensex extends losses; Infosys up 4%

The Sensex has extended losses and is now down 378 points at 14,715. Realty stocks in particular have taken a hard knock. Capital goods and financial stocks, too, have slipped deeper into red.
DLF has slumped 8.4% to Rs 503. Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Infrastructure have plunged 7.5% each to Rs 173 and Rs 988, respectively.
SBI has tumbled over 6% to Rs 1,460. HDFC and ICICI Bank have dropped around 5% each to Rs 2,293 and Rs 676, respectively. HDFC Bank has shed 3.5% at Rs 1,175.
BHEL and Larsen & Toubro have slipped around 4.5% each to Rs 1,706 and Rs 2,673, respectively.
Reliance Communications has tumbled over 4% to Rs 422. ACC and Hindalco have shed 3% each at Rs 609 and Rs 135, respectively.

On the other hand, Infosys has surged nearly 4% to Rs 1,688. Satyam has moved up 1.4% to Rs 412.
Tata Power has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,034. Sterlite and Tata Steel are up over 1% each at Rs 620 and Rs 617, respectively.
Out of 2,693 stocks traded so far, 1,797 have declined, 821 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
