Sensex extends losses; RIL breaks Rs 2,000-mark

The NSE Nifty is down 112 points at 4,236.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has slumped 7.5% to Rs 154. Hindalco has plunged 5.3% to Rs 153.

Larsen & Toubro has shed 5% at Rs 2,437. Reliance, too, has tumbled nearly 5% and has now broken the Rs 2,000-mark at Rs 1,994.

Reliance Infrastructure has dropped 4.6% to Rs 918. BHEL and Bharti Airtel have slipped over 4% each to Rs 1,346 and Rs 736, respectively.

DLF and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined 3.5% each to Rs 441 and Rs 556, respectively.
