Sensex in red; tech stocks drag

The Sensex after a marginally (24 points) positive start at 9,679, had touched a high of 9,746 in early trades, The index, however, has slipped into red and is now down 56 points at 9,599.
Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed nearly 11% to Rs 83. Reliance Communications has soared 6.5% to Rs 243.
Sterlite has surged over 5% to Rs 286. ICICI Bank has gained 2.5% at Rs 410, and ACC has added 2% to Rs 486.
SBI has moved up 1.6% to Rs 1,208. DLF is up 1% at Rs 265.
Satyam has slumped 5% to Rs 225. Wipro has plunged 3.7% to Rs 252, and TCS has tumbled 3% to Rs 525.
NTPC has shed 2.5% at Rs 165. Hindustan Unilever, Infosys and Bharti Airtel have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 239, Rs 1,147 and Rs 719, respectively.
BHEL has slipped 1.7% to Rs 1,389. HDFC and ITC are down around 1.5% each at Rs 1,600 and Rs 168, respectively.
