Sensex marginally down; Grasim, RIL rebound

The Sensex opened 24 points lower at 8,583. The index touched a high of 8,619, and a low of 8,516. The index is now down 21 points at 8,586.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 3% to Rs 599. Sun Pharma and HDFC have tumbled over 2% each to Rs 971 and Rs 1,211, respectively.

HDFC Bank has dropped 1.7% to Rs 831. Tata Power, Infosys and ITC are down over 1% each to Rs 703, Rs 1,205 and Rs 177, respectively.

Grasim has surged 2.5% to Rs 1,357. Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 2% to Rs 324.

Tata Motors has advanced 1.7% to Rs 148, and Maruti has added 1.5% to Rs 148.

 

Tata Steel and Reliance are up over 1% each at Rs 161 and Rs 1,239, respectively.
